Woot! Woot! Birthday Time

This year I decided to play a lovely prank on my dad for our birthday so I filled up balloons (53) and put them in his car- with the help of Spencer :) And than I made him a sign for the side of his car. Unfortunately I had to put it on the opposite side of the drivers side because of the dew. But it still had the effect I wanted :) I got a great pile of loot this year. My parents are totally awesome! I love them tons!! My mom and dad got me new bed sheets, a book, NCIS season 2, gloves, and a new computer battery! Woot! I really needed that! Scottie got me a package of ramon noodles from my stash! :) What a brother!! Erin gave me some stickers for my nails, Ash gave me a laffy taffy... WHAT A BIRTHDAY!! Very blessed to have a wonderful family:) The only thing that would have made it better was if Michelle, Sarah, and Jeff were here. MISS YOU!! Here is to 23!!

Reflections of Christ

Today I went to see the "Reflections of Christ" exhibit at the stake center. I am very glad I went. There were several pictures depicting Christ's life and ministry. There was a quote that I really liked at the end of the video which showed the making of the exhibit. It was by Elder Neal Maxwell,

"Each of us is an innkeeper who decides if there is room for Jesus!"

The Fall Life

I love the fall! It means many fun activities at our house. This is why...

1. Mom has awesome fall decorations, leaves, pumpkins, browns, oranges, reds....
2. Mom lights her pumpkin spice candles so that the fragrance runs through the house...YUM
3. Apple picking, pies, apple cuts with peanut butter, apple cider, doughnuts,...YUMMY
4. Halloween, watching the parade at work-waiting in anticipation on what Scottie is going to be!
5. My birthday-(wonder if I am getting old because I asked for sheets and a new computer battery)
6. Yummy turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing, pumpkin pie, SO YUMMY!
7. Christmas Tree Picking
8. Christmas Eve, Christmas Play, Secret Buddies, one gift, the Grinch and Christmas light watching with carols, and a delicious German meal!

I CAN"T WAIT!!!!!

Grand Canyon

When I was visiting Michelle and Jeff this summer we went to the Grand canyon. AMAZING! That is all I have to say. Unfortunately, my fear of heights might hinder my goal of hiking the Grand Canyon with my family. Any suggestions on how to overcome that?

Bubble Trouble!

I have felt so lucky visiting Michelle and Jeff this summer. We have done many fun things. One of those things was spend a week at their time share. Very Fancy! There was air conditioning, a dishwasher, 4 pools where you could buy drinks and sip in the pool, miniature gold, regular golf, and much more. My favorite?...... The tub with jets! Yes people! LUXURY!

So- we decide that we need bubbles. I mean you can't have a bath without bubbles. Well, Michelle volunteers to help me set it up.....Boy I was excited.

One problem, apparently we used too much bubbles!!!!

WhAt ArE tHe OdDs?!?!

That after being so brave and entering into the ocean (which if you know me well-was a HUGE deal since I have a fear of being eaten by a shark)

I run into the waves with Michelle-except I run into something hard......sheesh okay it is not a shark:) but a rock covered by the waves!
Who would think that I would break or sprain my toe? After, 22 years of never breaking anything or spraining anything.....Pretty sure it is broken..... CRABZ! I do it! It hurts and thankfully my brother in law Jeff doesn't have anything against touching feet so he carefully wrapped my toes so I could limp along in the Santa Barbara Zoo. Yikes! what are the odds?

Dinner Mexican Style

Last night we had dinner with Jeff's boss and co-worker Jack and Bill. Went to a whole in the wall Mexican place. Can't even remember the name let alone say it! But it was yummy! The whole time I was thinking, "boy would dad love this place!" We had a fun time. After dinner Jeff took us to get some ice-cream. It was probably too cold but really in a small town like Lompoc there really is nothing to do but get some ice-cream and look at fields of flowers and artichokes! (we are determined to find a field where we can pick some). Delicious.....not that anyone of us complained about the activity!

Here is California!

Michelle, Spencer, and I decided to drive up to California to visit with Jeff. He had to come up for work and will be here until the 17th. Sheesh! So we packed up the car and headed his way. We arrived and to our surprise the weather was stunningly pleasant. It is cool but most welcoming after hot Mesa weather. Here are some pictures of us by the pool. It was so cold however, Spencer and I had to jump in the hot tub for a few so we could warm back up! Michelle however, would only dip her toes! :) We had a good time.

SURPRISE!

After a very long trip-including a plane switch we finally made it to Arizona. Where we are having a good time frying in the heat! Michelle and Jeff picked us up at the airport and we made our way to their house. When we got there Jeff and Michelle gave us the grand tour. When they showed us our room there was a familiar red phone on the pillow....... Hey! We know that phone! This was our surprise.........

MOMMY & SARAH &ASHLEY!

It was very good to see them even though they could only stay for a day. Sarah had to go back to Utah for physical therapy. But it was awesome to see them anyway!

Keep checking my blog for updates on what is going on in sunny Arizona!!!

I am leaving tomorrow and can hardly believe it is time to go. I of course, was limited to one suitcase and finally had to result to a A3 bag..... it is hard to pack for an entire summer! Too bad I can't put Scottie in my bag:) Boy I am going to miss my peeps who are still at home!!!

I still don't know.........

Farewell Team Regime!

What gave it away- but all the kids seemed to know it was me!?! I still have no idea how they guessed it was me ( I think it might have been the height!). But I would like everyone to know that it is VERY hot in that stupid costume and I only did it for the love I hold for the retiring PTC officers :( The things you do for your peeps! :)

DARE

This Tuesday is also the DARE graduation. Scott had a blast learning about different drugs and the consequences of partaking in them.

The other day we were walking past a man who was smoking and Scott looked at me and said, "Emilie, that guy is stupid. He learned about smoking and he still smokes." I had to suppress a giggle! I wanted to say yep that's true! Sigh brothers are funny!

And..... HE WON THE DARE ESSAY!!!! WAY TO GO SCOTT!!!! He gets to read it in front of the whole 5th grade and their parents on Tuesday.
